Technology Support

The ESU Helpdesk assists students with technology and computing needs. Their primary areas of support include:

  • Campus network and wireless connections (new requests, configuration, access failure, etc.)
  • E-mail
  • BuzzIn Portal
  • Passwords and User-IDs
  • PC and Mac problems (operating system, virus eradication, etc.)

Technology Help: There is also help available the ESU Tech Site to assist students with answers, software, wireless, Canvas,etc.
Also, if you are having problems with your computer, the helpdesk will be able to remotely assess your computer to help you diagnosis the problem.

Student ID Number: Student ID numbers have been assigned to all ESU students for conducting university business including registering for classes and requesting transcripts. ID numbers are sometimes referred to as your "E-number" or your "Banner Student ID".

To look-up your Student ID, [click here]. You will need your username and password (or SSN).  If you do not know your password or did not provide a SSN at time of application, contact the Help Desk at 1-877-332-4249 to obtain your ID.

Accessing ESU email account: Emporia State University students enrolled in Distance Education distance courses are REQUIRED to maintain an email account through Emporia State University. Click on this link to find information on accessing your email.

Accessing BuzzIn: Buzz In is Emporia State University's web portal. Similar to other web portals, such as My Yahoo or My MSN, Buzz In will allow users to personalize and customize displayed content to suit their information needs. The Buzz In Portal will serve as the single point of entry for the university's information assets. Not only will the portal allow access to Banner self-service modules, but will also form a cohesive and flexible interface that will support the integration of other university systems such as Canvas, MyData, and StudentAccess. Canvas: The course portal through which all online courses at ESU are delivered. You can access Canvas directly through Buzz In. Login to Buzz In and click on the Canvas Link located on the right. For help with Canvas, please click on the Canvas Student Guide.
