Active in his community, he is the past president of Emporia Main Street and the Emporia Friends of the Zoo Board. Shivley also volunteered on the Emporia Area Convention & Visitors Bureau Board. He currently is a member of the Rotary Club of Emporia and graduate of Leadership Emporia Class of 2004.
Vice President for Stewardship and Administration
Jennifer Denton has led Emporia State University Foundation’s Stewardship and Administration team since August 2012. Under Denton’s leadership the team has successfully completed a total conversion of alumni, gift, and financial data software and associated business processes (from Banner to Blackbaud); implemented a personalized annual Stewardship Report mailing to around 800 fund contacts; and planned and executed a series of impactful donor events and communications celebrating the success of the $58M Now & Forever campaign. Previously, Jennifer served as Chief Operations Officer at Colorado State University–Pueblo Foundation.
A native Coloradoan, Denton redeemed her National Merit Scholarship at Rice University in pursuit of a chemical engineering degree. Following graduation she enabled client businesses to leverage technology as a Staff Consultant at Computer Sciences Corporation (Houston, TX) and later served as a Marketing Specialist for a top-producing Colorado real estate team. Denton became a Hornet alumna in 2016 with the completion of her Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems. She credits her unique educational and career journey with honing the analytical, client service, and communication skills necessary to lead a high–performing advancement services team.
In her free time you can find Jennifer, her husband Brian, and their two daughters enjoying the many musical, athletic, and family events Emporia has to offer.
