Kevin Johnson, General Counsel
Prior to earning his Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law, Kevin B. Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Wichita State University. Kevin is licensed to practice law in state and federal courts of Kansas, 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, and U.S. Supreme Court. Prior to his current position as General Counsel, Kevin was engaged in the private practice of law in Wichita, Kansas, representing small businesses and individuals. Kevin is the author of several professional journal articles and ten books on various legal topics. Kevin is a member of the Kansas Bar Association and Beta Gamma Sigma, ESU Chapter.
In addition to his role as General Counsel, Kevin is a member of the ESU School of Business faculty with the academic rank of Professor. He is also a past president of ESU faculty.
Katie Morgan, Associate General Counsel
Prior to earning her Juris Doctrate and graduating Order of the Coif from the University of Kansas School of Law, Katie A. Morgan earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Colorado State University and a master’s of education in higher education and student affairs from the University of Vermont. While attending law school, Katie served as a symposium editor for the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy, was a Dean’s Fellow, and an active board member for Women in Law.
Prior to her current work, Katie served as an Assistant General Counsel for the University of Kansas as well as an attorney at Bryan Cave LLP. She has negotiated numerous domestic and international contracts, participated in policy development, and advised clients on compliance with state and federal law, student rights, and a variety of employment matters. Katie has represented both public and private entities in federal, state, and administrative litigation involving employment law, property rights, civil rights, and contract disputes. She has also served in a variety of pro bono positions, including on behalf of Legal Aid of Western Missouri and Habitat for Humanity.
